Obituary of Edna June Pettis

Edna June Pettis, age 86, of Clifton Park, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015. Born on June 8, 1929 in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Walter B. and Mary Morey. She is also predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth. June, as she liked to be called, graduated from Amsterdam High School, and earned an Associate’s degree from the Albany Business College. She received the Silver Fawn Award, an honor bestowed upon a select few mothers through the Boy Scouts of America. She was a member of the Shenendehowa United Methodist Church, the Susanna Westley Circle, the Clifton Park Study Club and the Clifton Park Senior Citizens Center. She worked for the New York State Department of Transportation, until she retired in 1956 to run the family business, Pettis Home Maintenance. She is survived by her loving husband: Eugene Pettis whom she married in 1955, her three sons, Ron, John (Eileen) and Dave (Jennifer) Pettis, a nephew and five grandchildren, Robert, Tim, Jessica, Joshua, and Brittney, and great-grandchildren Jakob, Tim Jr., Emma Grace, and Easton. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc. 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, with a funeral service on Thursday at 12 noon at the Shenendehowa United Methodist Church. A short viewing will be held at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Saratoga National Cemetery at 2 p.m
