Penny Ann Grastorf, age 74, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, in her home in Clifton Park, NY. The second of eight children of Clifford and Rosemary Grastorf, Penny graduated from Belmont Central School in Belmont, NY. She was a member of the Shenendehowa Teacher’s Association. When Penny retired, she developed an interest in watercolor painting and won many awards for her work. She enjoyed painting florals due to her admiration of the painter, Georgia O’Keefe. She helped on the art committee for the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library and served for a time on the Shenendehowa Senior Center Art Committee. Penny was an avid reader, especially of mysteries. Gardening gave her many years of enjoyment. Penny was predeceased by her parents and her older sister Sandra Hunt. She is survived by sisters Sherry Lawn (James Bobreski) of Penn Yan, NY, Shelley (Gregory) Pasinski of Angelica, NY; Laurel (John) Buckwalter of Alfred Station, NY; and Candy Grastorf (Gregg Ames) of St. Louis, MO, and by brothers Dennis Grastorf (Linda Fiyalko) Stillwell of NYC, and Grant Grastorf of White Plains, NY; and by numerous nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews. There will be no funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library, 475 Moe Rd, Clifton Park, NY 12065.
