Edmund T. Pogorzelski, age 84, of Clifton Park passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2016. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Marijan and Ida Pogorzelski. Edmund proudly served in the US Army. He worked his entire career as an electrician for General Electric in Schenectady. When he retired, he and his wife enjoyed traveling around the US and the world, visiting the Mediterranean, China, Albania, France, and Mexico among other places. Edmund was a bird enthusiast. He made his yard a safe-haven for birds year-round and would spend hours taking pictures of the Brazilian Cardinal in Hawaii or Eagles in Alaska. Edmund was also an avid reader and enjoyed working on crossword puzzles every day with his wife. He is survived by his wife, Elinor Pogorzelski, son James Pogorzelski, daughters Wendy (Joe) Guastaferro and Margo Pogorzelski, sisters Veronica Thomson, and Anne Bailoni, and several nieces and nephews. A calling hour will be held on Tuesday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Crescent. Burial will be in the Saratoga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY 12204 (www.MohawkHumaneSociety.org).
