Edward G. Sabourin, Sr., age 69 of Stillwater passed away at home on Thursday, March 23, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Leopold and Geneva Sabourin. He was predeceased by his siblings Doreen Gates, Ronald Sabourin, and Judith Bruno. Ed worked as a truck driver for the Town of Clifton Park Highway Dept, retiring after over 35 years of service. A lifelong volunteer firefighter, he belonged to the Halfmoon-Waterford Fire Dept., the Clifton Park Fire Dept., and he spent the last 30 years at the Arvin Hart Fire Co. in Stillwater. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (Mincher) Sabourin, daughter Rosemarie (fiancé Thomas) Giroux, sons Edward (Paula) Sabourin, and Brian (Carrie) Sabourin, and his sister Adeline Charbonneau and brother Paul (Janice) Sabourin, brother-in-law David Bruno, and sister-in-law Bonnie Sabourin. He is also survived by grandchildren Joseph Giroux III, Rebecca Giroux, and James Giroux, Ashley, Paul, Brianna, Brandon, and Bella Sabourin, great-grandson Owen Hunt, and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m., with a service at 5 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home, 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Stillwater. Donations may be made in his memory to the Arvin Hart Fire Company, P.O. Box 288, Stillwater, NY 12170.
