Myra Gove

Obituary of Myra Gove

Myra C. Gove, age 79 of Clifton Park passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s surrounded by her loving family. She was one week shy of her 80th birthday and one month shy of their 59th anniversary.  Born on May 18, 1937 in Winchester, MA, she was the daughter of the late James and Myra Coon. She was predeceased by her brothers Jim and Dick Coon, and her sister Roberta Struck.

Myra was a 1955 graduate of Winchester High School, and earned her degree from Colby-Sawyer Junior College in New Hampshire. She was very proud of her 32 year career as a medical secretary and office manager for Albany Urologic Surgeons.   She enjoyed working with all the staff and especially the doctors.

She was an avid Boston sports fan, especially the Red Sox and the New England Patriots. She often traded jabs with family members who did not share the same Boston passion. She enjoyed watching tennis and rooting for Roger Federer.  She read on a daily basis, often finishing more than one book a week.  Her favorite places included Maine and Marco Island, partly for the beautiful beaches, but mostly for the wonderful friends.

Above of all, she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She cheered the loudest, whether it was on the sidelines of a sporting event, in a theater or at a music hall.  The grandchildren returned her love with lots of hugs and TLC for a special bamboo plant.

She is survived by her husband, Peter R. Gove, son Jay (Laurie) Gove, daughters Laura (Bob) Pietropaolo, Priscilla (Dave) Petta, and her brothers Ralph “Bob”, Paul, David, and Peter Coon. She is also survived by her grandchildren Rebecka, Justin, Ally, Joe, Jonathan, Allison, Rachel, and Nicole.

Please join us for a memorial service on Monday, May 15 at The Hilton Garden Inn in Clifton Park at 1:00 p.m. followed by a luncheon.

In lieu of flowers or donations, truly, she would love nothing more than if you were to do a kind deed in her memory.
