Robert F. Marchillo, age 84 of Clifton Park passed away at home on Sunday, July 9, 2017. He was born on August 4, 1932 in Boston, the son of the late James and Frances Marchillo.

Robert served in the Army infantry during the Korean War. He received the Purple Heart for wounds that he received and was also awarded the Combat Infantry Badge and the Korean Service Medal with 4 Bronze Stars. He was an assistant manager for the Norton Co. in Watervliet for 29 years, and then spent 9 years as the manager for the Norton Credit Union. He was a member of the VFW in Clifton Park, the Korean War Veteran’s Association, and the Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife, Jennie R. Marchillo, daughter Christine (Gary) Phillips, son Robert (Carolyn) Marchillo Jr., grandchildren Larissa, Jessica, Laura, Anthony (Caitlin), and Benjamin (Carly), great-grandsons Richard, Parker, Lucas, and Brady, and great-granddaughter Nicollette.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, with a memorial Mass on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Edward’s Church in Clifton Park. Burial will follow in the Saratoga National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the American Heart Association, or to the American Diabetes Association.
