Obituary of Earle T. Campbell

Please share a memory of Earle to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Earle Thomas Campbell, age 78 of Clifton Park passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 4, 2017.  Born on December 20, 1938 in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Earle F. and Alice (Cuffe) Campbell.

Tom was a “Double Eagle” graduating from Boston College High School in 1956 and Boston College in 1960 receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in History.  He served in the US Army for two years (1960-1962), in the Army Infantry and Intelligence Division.  Tom enjoyed a 35-year career as the Northeast District Sales Manager for General Motors Buick Division.

He was an avid New England sports fan, and was a lifelong season-ticket holder of the Boston Bruins for many years.   Another one of Tom’s passions was coaching youth hockey.  As a result, he was instrumental in forming not only the Claremont, NH program, but also Rockville, CT’s high school program.

His family vacationed in Wells Beach, Maine for over 100 years and he passed the love of the ocean to his children.

He is survived by his daughter Kathleen Campbell of Clifton Park, NY, his son Christopher (Lisa) Campbell of Northbridge, MA, his sister Patricia Campbell originally of Newton, MA and currently of Schenectady, NY, grandsons Devin and Sean, his former wife Muriel (Moreau) Campbell of Sutton, MA and many cousins and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center in Schenectady for the exemplary compassion and care provided to Tom during his stay.  We cannot fully express the gratitude to every staff member who had contact with him.

A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, in Clifton Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
