Obituary of Charles R. Hoerauf

Charles R Hoerauf, age 90 of Malta passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018. Born on December 21, 1927, he was the son of the late Charles and Sarah Hoerauf. He was predeceased by his wife Nancy A. Hoerauf, daughter Dolores Dishroon, and brother Albert Hoerauf.

Charles worked as a repairman for the Bell Telephone Co. for 34 years, and was a member of the Pioneers Club and the East Branch Hunting Club.  He enjoyed metal detecting, beekeeping and oil painting. As a skilled carpenter he built the family’s home. His stained-glass creations can be admired at The Blue Ribbon Dinner in Schenectady and The Clifton Park Nursery School.

He is survived by his daughters Susan (John) Flaherty, Nancy Triece, Charlene Marra, and Barbara (Ray) Campos, his son Charles Hoerauf, sister Dolores Ships, and brother Frank Hoerauf. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jennifer, Shannon, Shaun, Gregory, Matthew, Christopher, Gloria, Cameron, Sasha, Gabby, Elise, Alexis, and R.J., and great-grandchildren Marshall and Clara.

A memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, February 15^th at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Ballston Spa.
