Obituary of Raymond J. Martineau

Raymond Joseph Martineau, age 94 of Halfmoon passed away on Friday October 3, 2014. He was predeceased by his first wife Yvonne Nault Martineau, son, Robert W. Martineau, and step-son, Michael D. Bombard. Raymond served in the Army Infantry in the Philippines during WWII. He was a maintenance man at the Star Textile and Research and Barclay Home Products, both in Cohoes. He participated in several bands playing his guitar in the Plattsburgh and Troy area for various occasions – mostly weddings. He is survived by his wife Sara (Sally) Bombard Martineau, sons Raymond L. (Jan) Martineau, Dennis (Char) Martineau, and David (Audra) Martineau, daughters Debra (Leonard) Phoenix, and Lori (Ronald) Miller, step-sons Gregory (Christina) Bombard and Ronald (Laurie) Bombard Jr, step-daughter Calista (Robert) Coons and several grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Monday at St. Edward’s Church in Clifton Park from 4 to 8 pm, with a Funeral Mass Tuesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Waterford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation or the Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd, Rensselaer, NY 12144.
