Jeffrey A. McCarthy, age 54 of Halfmoon passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at home with his wife Carla by his side. Born on June 21, 1960 in Niskayuna, he was the son of Richard and Emily McCarthy. A veteran of the US Coast Guard, Jeffrey worked as a civil engineer for CT Male Associates in Latham and Ivan Zdrahal Associates in Clifton Park. He loved working on cars with his son and belonged to the Capital Area Mopars Club. He enjoyed snowmobiling and working on anything mechanical, and was an avid cross country runner. He is survived by his wife, Carla McCarthy, daughters Megan and Erika, and son Andrew McCarthy, sister Ginda Rothacker, brothers Rick, Rob, and John McCarthy, mother-in-law Carla Henschel, father-in-law Paul Henschel, sisters-in-law Diane and Joan, and brother-in-law Ken, and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc. 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, with a funeral service Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Clifton Park. Burial will be in Saratoga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an organization of one’s choice.
