Obituary of Geraldine M. Johnson

Geraldine M. Johnson, age 86 of Halfmoon passed away on Monday December 29, 2014 at Ellis Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 13, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Agnes Gavin. She is predeceased by her husband Richard D. Johnson, sisters, Teresa McBride, Rosemary Gavin and her brother, Francis Gavin. Born in Vischer Ferry, she graduated from Burnt Hills Ballston Lake High School. After graduating, she worked for the Shenendehowa School District in the cafeteria. She also worked for Empire Blue Cross, Blue Shield also working in the cafeteria. She loved camping with her husband and spending time with her family and helping out in various church activities. She always looked forward to going to the track in Saratoga in the summer, and enjoyed spending time with her family during the Holidays. She is survived by her daughters Diane (Jon) Riedel and Dawn (Randy) Staples; son, Richard Johnson Jr.; granddaughters, Nicole (William) Ryan, Jennifer (John) Duchessi, Kristen Riedel, Lora (Sameer) Chaudhari, Tara (James) Quinn, two great-granddaughters, Kailey Ryan and Satya Chaudhari. She is also survived by her sister, Irene Galomb, sister in law, Dorothy Middleton, brother and sister in law, Carl (Doris) Johnson, and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Catricala Funeral Home Inc. 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park with a funeral mass Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 119 Broad St. in Waterford. Burial will be in Clifton Park Village Cemetery.
