It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Mary Margaret A. Hudak, who departed this life on May 2, 2025, following complications from surgery.
Mary Margaret was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, on July 23, 1952. She was a graduate of Schuylerville High School and earned her degrees from Hudson Valley and Skidmore College. She dedicated her career to caring for others as a Registered Nurse, serving with compassion and professionalism. Her final position was as a case manager for the Visiting Nurses in Rotterdam, NY, where she helped coordinate care and support for patients in their homes — a role that perfectly reflected her empathy, warmth, and dedication to service.
Mary Margaret married Gary Restino on the beach at Half Moon Bay in California. He was her beloved husband and companion for nearly 50 years. Her many passions included: spending time outdoors, boating and camping on Lake George, travelling to ocean destinations, the New York Yankees, and the correct use of the English language both orally and in print! She never missed a family gathering and always was the last to leave! She especially loved her nieces, nephews and their children. She never missed sending a birthday or anniversary wish to her family as well as her many friends.
She is survived by her husband, Gary; her brothers, Tom (Patty), Rick (Debra), Bob (Cheryl), her sisters, Liz Baker (Bernie), and Ellen Rumsey (the late Jack). She was a devoted Aunt to many nieces, nephews and their children. She never lost touch with relatives and remained close with the Picone and Korchin families. Her many friends will also cherish her memory.
A service will be held at Saratoga National Cemetery on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 11:30 a.m.
