Dorothy Corey, 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Saratoga Hospital with her family by her side.

Dorothy was born in 1929 in Cohoes, New York, a child of the late Rudolph and Helen (Pelletier) Normandin. She was also predeceased by her four siblings, her son-in-law, David Hickok and her husband, Peter J. Corey.

Dorothy graduated from Cohoes High School in 1948, and married Peter in 1949 where she embarked on a life of excitement faithfully attending Pete's stock car races.

Dorothy had a love of animals, especially her grand-dogs and cats and the birds and squirrels she fed each day. She found great joy in being outside swinging in her chair or tending to her flowers and shrubs.

Dorothy loved spending times at the family camp, where she was often found tending the fire and riding her ATV or snowmobile through the woods. She cherished those days filled with laughter and family. Dorothy also loved to tell stories of her youth, including memories of roller skating where she met Pete.

Her family was the center of her world. Dorothy is survived by her 3 children – Dorothy (Ivan) Skomp, Peter Corey, and Senator Kathy (Frank) Marchione. She is the proud grandmother to Ryane (David) Heckathorn, David (Maghan) Hickok, Kandi (Dan) Terry, Kathy (Tim) Smith, Johnathan (Michelle) Hickok, Michael (Andree') Hickok, Bobbie Marchione, and Alison Skomp, and a cherished great-grandmother to Rachael, Mairead, Jack, Ben, Nathan, Michael, Emily, Noah, Eli, Jacob, Riley, Deacon, and Cadence. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Dorothy will take place from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm on Monday, July 21, 2025 at the Church at Lower Newtown Road, 142 Lower Newtown Rd, Waterford, NY 12188. A funeral service will follow at the church at 1:00 pm. Burial will take place following the funeral service at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 40 Middletown Rd, Waterford, NY 12188.
