Schaufenbil, Margo (née Buffum), 83, of Manchester, NH passed away on July 31, 2025 at Saratoga Hospital, following a brief illness. Margo was preceded in death by her parents (Frederick Buffum and Helen Harkinson), brother and sister-in-law (David and Jan Buffum), and husband (Gerald Schaufenbil). Margo is survived by her brothers: Frederick (Gina) and Arthur Buffum; children: Jennifer Lea (Eric) Saeger of Manchester, New Hampshire, Valerie Ann Sargent of Gilmanton IW, New Hampshire, and James Christopher (Elizabeth) Brown of Halfmoon, New York; beloved grandchildren: Ethan, Mason, and Caleb Sargent, Alexander Malevorne, Evan and Anna Brown; and great-granddaughter: Aria Sargent.

Margo was a direct descendant of the Buffums of Salem, Massachusetts, who provided aid and comfort to the victims and families of the 1692 Salem Witch Trials. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts and lived most of her life in Manchester, New Hampshire. During the summers of her youth, she enjoyed visiting her grandmother on the beaches of Cape Cod. She raised her children initially in Texas (Dallas and Plano) and later in New Hampshire (Manchester). Margo proudly served many years as a school librarian for the Manchester City School District. In her retirement, she continued her love for reading, researching family genealogy, rooting for the Red Sox, sipping a cup of tea or a glass of rosé, spending time with her grandchildren and on occasion, her own children.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gateway House of Peace, 479 Rowland St, Ballston Spa, NY 12020. A grave-side service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Manchester, New Hampshire at a time later determined by the family.
