Scott Martin Swatling, 49, of Halfmoon, New York, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, September 7, 2025 following a battle with cancer.
Scott was born in 1976 in Troy, New York, a son of Glenn and Janet (Ryan) Swatling. He graduated from Shenendehowa High School with the class of 1995. Following his graduation he went to work as a mechanic for Troy City Garage. He married Melissa Letourneau on September 16, 2000, and was anticipating their 25th anniversary.
When Scott wasn't at work he had a passion for dirt bike racing, was involved with his family's dairy farm, and had recently gotten into gardening. He loved his dog, Dozer, and his family meant the world to him.
Scott is survived by his parents: Glenn and Janet Swatling; his wife: Melissa Swatling; their children: Scott Swatling, Jr. and Misty Swatling; his step-children: Kayla Letourneau and Cody Letourneau, and 4 grandchildren: Cameron Higgins, Bryden Higgins, Hunter Allen, and Julia Allen; his siblings: Glenn (Thatsany) Swatling, Jr., Kenneth (Dianne) Swatling, and Jennifer (Paul) Sousie, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A visitation for Scott will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 9:00am until 10:00am at Catricala Funeral Home, 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, NY 12065, followed by a Mass at St. Mary's of Crescent, 86 Church Hill Rd, Waterford, NY 12188 at 10:30am. Burial will take place at St. Agnes Cemetery in Cohoes immediately following the mass.
