Joseph C. Ginardi age 98 of Clifton Park, passed away peacefully at Shaker Place in Colonie on October 24, 2025. Joe was born in Albany, NY, the son of the late Vincent and Marion Ginardi.
He grew up in Albany, NY and was known for his sense of adventure, playing with his friends in Lincoln Park near the Schuyler mansion, attending church with his family, and walking the soles off his shoes exploring the surrounding area.
He enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17 during WWII, and was assigned to the Pacific region, including a post-war assignment in Japan. After completing his Navy service, Joe returned to Albany to finish high school and then went on to graduate from Morrisville College.
Working as an operating engineer, Joe helped build the Empire State Plaza and the Adirondack Northway among many projects, before becoming an OSHA inspector in Albany, looking after the safety and well-being of his fellow construction workers and many others in their workplaces.
Joe enjoyed reading, especially mystery novels, and completing 1000-piece jigsaw puzzles. He also researched his family genealogy and was a highly capable DIYer around the home. His kindness, social grace, and gentle but mischievous sense of humor enriched the lives of everyone around him.
Joe was predeceased by two sons Vincent and Nicholas Ginardi, his sister Kay Vinciquerra, and his former wife Connie.
He leaves behind his wife of 43 years Brenda M. Ginardi, three sons, Steven (Kazia), Joseph and Daniel Ginardi, and four stepsons, Thomas, Mark (Natalie), Matthew (Julie), and Paul (Amy) Shudt. He was a wonderful grandfather to Vincent (Rebecca) Ginardi, Thomas, Max, Alex, Katherine, Chloe, Phoebe and Eva Shudt. He is also survived by his sister Anna Dellarocca as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to thank the nurses and aides in the Case unit at Shaker Place for their care and kindness.
