Elizabeth "Betty" Fontaine, 92, of Halfmoon, New York, passed away following a brief illness at Saratoga Hospital on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 with her family by her side.

Betty was born in 1933 in Cohoes, New York ,a daughter of the late Wilfred and Olga (Rench) Petuske, Sr. She was also predeceased by her brother, Wilfred Petuske, Jr., and her sister Madeline Petuske.

Following high school, Betty married the love of her life, James G. Fontaine, and remained by his side for her entire life. She worked for 10 years in the Time Payment division of Montgomery Ward, but her real occupation was that of a devoted wife, mother, and aunt.

Betty loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping in the Adirondacks. At home she enjoyed spending time in her garden, and used her harvest in her passion, cooking for her loved ones. Most of all, she loved her family.

Betty is survived by her husband of 73 years: James G. Fontaine; their two sons: Teddy Fontaine and George Fontaine, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A period of visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 3:00pm on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Catricala Funeral Home, 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, NY 12065.
