Donald Thomas Haggerty, 92, of Clifton Park, NY, passed away peacefully at St. Peter's Hospital on November 6, 2025, following a long illness.

Donald was born in Kingston, New York in 1933, a son of the late Martin and Marcella (Urell) Haggerty. He is predeceased by his wife, Marilyn Dollar Haggerty; his sister, Marcella Cannon; his brother, Martin Haggerty; and his in-laws, Bill Cannon, Tuddy Haggerty, Paul and Linda Dollar, and Richard Andrews.

He attended Kingston High School, and following his graduation, enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1952 until 1956 with distinction. After his honorable discharge, he attended Bryant University (Bryant College) in Rhode Island.

Donald worked as an auditor for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance in Albany for 34 years until his retirement in 1995. In April of 1968, he married the love of his life, Marilyn Dollar.

Donald enjoyed family trips to Myrtle Beach, to Florida for New York Yankees spring training, and annual visits to Plymouth, Mass. He was a long-time member of Ballston Spa Country Club, where he and his golf buddies regularly had the first tee time on weekends. He enjoyed watching Yankees baseball and Notre Dame football games.

Donald is survived by his three children: daughters Kathleen (Eric) Gundrum, Tricia (Steve Melucci) Haggerty, and son Kevin (Qiong Wang) Haggerty, and his grandchildren Sean Patrick Haggerty, Jeremy Gundrum, Matthew Gundrum, and Acadia Yue Haggerty. Additionally, he is survived by his in-laws, Barbara Andrews and Robert and Gail Dollar, and his nieces and nephews.

The family thanks all who tended to him during his final years.

A period of visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Catricala Funeral Home, 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, NY 12065, with a service taking place at Noon. A committal service with full military honors will follow at 1:30 pm at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, New York, 12871.
