Joanne Leonard, 86, of Halfmoon, NY, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at St. Peter's Hospice following a long illness.

She was born in 1939 in Albany, NY to the late John and Mary Ellen (O'Connor) Burke. She is also predeceased by her siblings: John Burke and Mary Cillis; her beloved husband: John "Jack" Leonard; and her daughter: Kathleen Leonard Stadtlander.

Joanne attended Cathedral Academy in Albany. She was married to Jack Leonard, and they remained devoted to each other until his death in 2018. She worked as a title clerk for Northway Exchange for many years.

Joanne was a resilient and proud Irish woman who embraced all things Irish. A homebody at heart, she cherished quiet moments, cozy naps, and the comfort of being warm. In her younger years she loved eating out with family and friends, and in her later years she found joy in a good home-cooked meal, especially soup.

Joanne had a lifelong love of shopping, particularly at Boscov's, and she could never resist a good bargain. She adored the fall season and Christmastime, often going "all out" to make every holiday feel special. She had a lifelong interest in photography and took great pleasure in capturing moments with her family. She was never seen in public without her disposable camera. She enjoyed texting to keep in touch with friends and family near and far.

Above all, Joanne treasured her role as a mother and grandmother. It was the joy of her life.

Joanne leaves behind her son: Michael Leonard; her son-in-law John Stadtlander; her grandchildren: Meaghan (Ben Bancroft) and Ryan Stadtlander. She also leaves behind a beloved great-granddaughter: Autumn.

A visitation will take place for Joanne from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, November 24, 2025 at Catricala Funeral Home, 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, NY 12065. A Mass will take place at 11:00am on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Corpus Christi Church 2001 US-9 N, Round Lake, NY 12151.
