Dominick N. "Mickey" Marino, 96, of Rexford, NY, passed away at his home on December 14, 2025.
Born in Greenwich, Connecticut in 1929, Dominick was the beloved son of the late Annunziato and Frances (Calabro) Marino. He was also predeceased by his sisters, Katherine Monick and Frances Monick.
After graduating from high school, Dominick proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, serving four years in the aviation division aboard aircraft carriers. Following his honorable discharge, he pursued higher education at DeVry University in Chicago, Illinois, earning his degree in electrical engineering. His career spanned decades, beginning at Univac in Utica, NY and concluding at Hamilton Digital Controls, where his expertise and dedication left a lasting mark.
Athletics were an early passion for Dominick—he excelled as a diver on both his high school swim team and the Navy's swim team. In later years, he found joy in golf and in cultivating his expansive vegetable garden, which became a hallmark of his home. Fondly nicknamed the "tomato man" by neighbors, he delighted in sharing the fruits of his labor with all who stopped by.
Above all, Dominick cherished time with his children. Whether summer days at the beach, winter ski trips, autumn apple-picking, or simply driving his children and their friends around town, he treasured these moments of togetherness and laughter.
Dominick's legacy lives on through his four children: Theresa Marino (Joseph Halleck), Susan Marino (Robert Brash), Michael (Sheila) Marino, and Paul (Deborah) Marino; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his siblings: Anne Marino, John Marino, Michael Marino, and Peter Marino.
He will be laid to rest privately at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY. A private family memorial celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that those wishing to honor Dominick's memory consider a donation to a charity of their choice.
