Charles A. Carroll, Jr., 78, of Halfmoon, New York, passed away at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany New York on December 25, 2025, following a long illness.
Charles was born in Concord, New Hampshire, a son of the late Charles A. and Natalie Carroll. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother: Richard S. Carroll, and his son: Ross Anthony Carroll.
Charles was a proud Marine, serving honorably through both Vietnam and the First Gulf War. He enlisted in 1965, and was honorably discharged in 1987, after which he went to work for the New York State Department of Military and Naval Affairs in Latham until his retirement in 2009.
Charles enjoyed woodworking, fishing and hunting. He belonged to The Sportsmen's Club of Clifton Park, where he served as Range Safety Officer and Treasure.
Charles leaves behind his wife of 60 years: Janet Carroll; their son: Charles Carroll III; grandsons: Charles A. Carroll IV and Nathan T. Carroll; and his sister Barbara (Skip) Fish.
A visitation will be held for Charles from 12 Noon until 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Catricala Funeral Home 1597, Route 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065, with a Time of Sharing at 2:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, January 5, 2026 at Harmony Grove Cemetery, 30 Grove Street, Salem Massachusetts 01970.
