Susan "Sue" M. Snyder (née Kilmartin), age 70, of Halfmoon, NY, passed away suddenly and peacefully, surrounded by loved ones in January 2026. Born in 1955 in Albany, NY, she attended Shaker High School and built a career with New York State in various departments, retiring from the NYS Department of Criminal Justice. Sue most recently enjoyed swimming, spending time with family and friends, traveling occasionally, and hanging with her dog, Peanut. She was loyal, kind, and supportive.

She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Snyder (Ed); and by three grandsons. Sue was predeceased by her husband, Charles "Charlie" M. Snyder, and by her brother, John Kilmartin (Anna Lynch).

A Catholic Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 27, at St. Mary's of Crescent. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:30 am., followed by Mass from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. A private family burial will take place at Memory Gardens.

Sue was raised with a deep love for Notre Dame by her parents, a love she passed on to her daughter and that continues to be carried on by her grandchildren. In her honor, attendees are asked to wear Notre Dame colors (navy, gold, green) or something to celebrate Sue's Irish heritage.
