Rodney E. Read, 78, of Clifton Park, New York, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026 at his home.

Born in 1947 in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, Rodney was the son of the late Lloyd and Ruth (Spackman) Read. He was also predeceased by his daughter: Lauren Suzanne Read, and his sister: Mary Ellen Read.

Rodney graduated from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania before earning his Masters of Business Administration from Iona in New Rochelle, New York. He went to work for JP Morgan Chase, serving as the Vice President until his retirement in 2002. On August 15, 1970 he married Gail Bulanchuk, and they enjoyed 56 wonderful years together.

Rodney enjoyed traveling with Gail and their family, iRacing with his grandson, and watching his granddaughter perform on stage. He especially looked forward to Sunday dinners with his family while watching football and playing board games.

Rodney leaves behind his wife: Gail Read; their daughter: Cindy (Christopher) Devendorf; two grandchildren: Brian Devendorf and Amy Devendorf; and seven siblings.

A period of visitation will be held for Rodney from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at Catricala Funeral Home, 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, New York. A graveside committal will take place the following day, Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Ferncliff Cemetery, 280 Secor Road, Hartsdale, NY 10530.
