Fond memories growing up with Uncle Bill…about 5years old took me fishing with my mom. I hooked (he had to reel it in) the biggest fish I had ever seen (about 1/2 my size back then(I’m only 5’). He taught me how to bowl, and would take me (at times my brother and sister) to Pizza Hut or Mickey’s Mousetrap afterwards.
Going to Guptill’s and having an “in” with the bouncer. Then to come full circle for my kids to see a familiar friendly face when attending Okte.
So many wonderful memories I’ve shared over a short lifespan with him. He will live on in those memories and in my heart. Miss you to pieces.

Please accept our heartfelt condolences on Bill’s passing. For many years as a custodian at Okte, he was a steady, caring presence whose hard work and dedication meant so much to everyone who knew him.
In honor of Bill’s life and legacy, a donation has been made to the American Heart Association. We hope this tribute reflects the deep respect and appreciation we have for him.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time.

Billy… oh Billy!!! My first favorite memory of you is always looking after me ( having my back) at Guptill’s as a skate guard then as a bouncer at Sssssssecrets “night club”!! Thank you big cuz for watching out for me and my friends! My second favorite memory is most recently seeing you at our cousin’s 60th birthday party. Only a short time later would you be called home. I’m still in shock, but my faith is stronger than knowing you are gone. You’re not… we will see you again!

So many memories of Bill. Such a very cute, joyous, sweet little brother. When we were young kids, one winter when the snow was deep and had a thick, icy crust, we slid down the hill behind our house, grabbing dried plants along the way to slow our slide and then grabbing still-intact ones to inch our way back up. This game was called "weed to weed." In the summer and fall, Bill loved to make roads for his Tonka trucks in the sand below the apple tree "down back." We also swung from the branches of the willow tree "tarzan style." As he grew taller and stronger than his older siblings, Bill was very protective of the younger ones, Joanne and Brenda. At Uncle Ernie's pool party, I watched him protect them both - from each other's antics. Bill was kind to his nieces and nephews, so obviously very fond of them. A big buy, he worked part-time as a formidable bouncer at Guptill's rollerskating rink, but inside, he was a big softie. His joy at marrying the love of his life was obvious. A big sweetheart, our brother. We expected to have him for so much longer. My hope is that he knew he was loved.

One time Bill borrowed a fish pole at camp and went to the end of our dock with someones spinner bait on it; In 5 min he said Sher you had better get the net, I said get out of here ! He said no I mean it...He had the bragging rights of catching the biggest small mouth bass I have seen come out of Lake Champlain.

One early memory of a young Bill that made me smile was watching him "wind" up his leg to see how fast his new cowboy boots would go, then watching him run all over the yard.
