Pamela R. Kelly Obituary

Pamela Reigh Kelly, 67, of Halfmoon, passed away on March 15, 2026, in Albany after a brief battle with cancer.

Born on March 23, 1958, in Mineola, New York, Pam was the daughter of Reigh W. Carpenter, Jr. and Mary Louise Ottati. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Daniel P. Kelly, and her parents.

Pam graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam in 1976. She went on to earn a Bachelor's degree from SUNY Oneonta and a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Vermont. Pam dedicated many years of her professional life to the State of New York, where she served in a variety of managerial roles and was respected for her leadership, compassion, and commitment to helping others.

Pam found her greatest joy in the outdoors, especially in the beauty and peace of the Adirondack Mountains. She had a deep love of travel and delighted in sharing good wine and great food with those she loved. Whether gathered around a table or exploring somewhere new, Pam created moments that were full of warmth, laughter, and connection—memories her family and friends will forever cherish.

Pam is survived by her sisters, Danni Jesudowich (Alex) of Orleans, Massachusetts, and Suzanne Nowak (Bob) of Glen Allen, Virginia; her nieces, Alexandra Nowak (Joe Wallwork) and Madison Smith (Ryan); her stepdaughters, Lisa Gramling (Scott), and their children, Madelaine and Max, and Jessica Scharoun (Andrew), and their daughters, Abagail and Isabel; as well as cousins, in-laws and her tribe of dear friends who were with her during her toughest times.

Visitation and a funeral Mass will be held on April 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 88 Church Hill Road, Crescent (Waterford), New York. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Valatie, New York.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Adirondack Council, 103 Hand Street, Suite 3, Elizabethtown, NY 12932.

Pam will be deeply missed and forever loved. Her kindness, strength, and joy for life touched all who knew her. As she so beautifully lived, we are reminded: "The best things in life are the people we love, the places we've been, and the memories we've made along the way." Her memory will live on in every shared meal, every mountain view, and every moment of love she leaves.
