Paul W. Samuels, 70, of Saratoga Springs, NY, passed away at Albany Medical Center on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 following an illness.

Born in Niskayuna, NY in 1955, Paul was a son of the late Kenneth Samuels, Sr. and MaryJane Sumner. He was also predeceased by his nephew Kent, and two beloved dogs, Prince and Tiffany.

Paul graduated from Shenendehowa High School with the class of 1974, and went on to become a truck driver, working for several companies over the years. When he decided to retire from the road, he found a second career at Bowman's Orchard in Rexford, taking people for rides on his tractor, and pointing out which trees had the best apples or peaches.

In addition to the orchard Paul served for many years in the Jonesville Volunteer Fire Department, of which he was a lifetime member. Over the years served in many positions including as a past assistant chief and president In his younger years he enjoyed bowling, and had a passion for stock car racing, often driving at the Fonda Speedway. Paul had a fondness for breakfast, especially loving going to Gibby's. He enjoyed his time outdoors, especially boating and camping, but everything was better when he had one of his pets with him. His most recent furry companions, or his "kids" as he called them, were Sammy and Molly, and they will miss him deeply.

Paul also leaves behind his companion, Jackie Hunt; his 3 siblings: Kenneth (Tamara) Samuels Jr., Susan Rhodes, and Sheryl (Keith) Reed; as well as his nieces and nephews: Amanda "Mandy", Derek, Taylor (Charli), and Ryan (Molly); a great niece: Madison; and great nephew: Jayden.

A Celebration of Paul's Life will be held at the Jonesville Fire Department Main Station on Friday, March 27, 2026 from 11 am until 2 pm. He will be laid to rest privately in the spring at the Jonesville Cemetery.
