Mary C. Sagendorf Obituary

Mary C. Sagendorf, 80, of Halfmoon, passed away at home on Wednesday, March 25th

surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 26th, 1945, she was the daughter of

the late James Cody and Pauline Dandaraw. She was the devoted and loving wife of

the late Edward Sagendorf, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage.


After spending several years raising her children, Mary worked for over 30 years as a

medical secretary, first for Dr. Jeff Murad, and continued through the practice transition

to Perlmutter Eye Center in Clifton Park, retiring in April of 2025.


Mary was a lifelong parishioner at St. Mary's Church, Crescent where she volunteered

as a eucharistic minister. She was also an active member of the Christ Our Light

Seniors, enjoying many outings with her friends.


She enjoyed camping at Harris Lake in Newcomb, New York and vacations to Long

Beach Island, New Jersey. She especially treasured time on her porch and gatherings

with friends and family at her pool. More than anything else, Mary cherished her family

and loved her children and grandchildren.


She is survived by her beloved children Lawrence J. (Amy) Sagendorf and Stephanie

M. (Michael) Spiak, her four cherished grandchildren, Carly and Larry Sagendorf and

Mikayla and Landon Spiak, her brother-in-law Kevin (Linda) Sagendorf, and many close

relatives and friends.


A period of visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31st, at St.

Mary's Church, Crescent, 86 Church Hill Road, Waterford, NY, with a memorial mass

immediately following at 12 p.m. Mary will be laid to rest with her husband, Edward, at

St. Agnes Cemetery of Menands.
