Michael Colin Cronin Obituary

Michael Colin Cronin, 42, of Altamont, NY, passed away in Albany on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

Born in Niskayuna, NY in 1983, he was the son of Charles M. Cronin, Jr, and the late Susan G. Hilton.

Following high school, Mike earned his associate's degree from Hudson Valley, and opened his own business, Uncle Mike's Vintage Clothing, in Troy, NY.

Michael had a passion for vintage clothing, and loved junking and looking for things to sell. He enjoyed nature and the great outdoors, and loved travelling in his van. Some of his more memorable adventures included visiting Texas and Georgia, but occasionally he would leave his van behind and go overseas, like his trip to Iceland. He also had a passion for Bikes and BMX, and had a very notable adventure where he biked from Portland Oregon down to San Diego, canvassing much of the West Coast. More than anything, Michael loved his family and his friends, and took special joy in performing small daily acts of kindness, going above and beyond to make the world just a little better every day.

Michael leaves behind his father: Charles M. (Monika) Cronin; his step-father: William Piskutz; his sister: Kimberly Cronin; his step-sister: Weronika Kierach (Matthew Nussbaumer); and a niece and nephew: Sophia and AJ Rubino.

Services for Michael will be held privately. Please honor Mike's memory by doing a small act of kindness every day. If you wish to make a donation in his memory, please consider giving to the American Society for Suicide Prevention Capital Region NY, 199 Water Street, New York, NY 10038 to help prevent further loss from suicide.
