Arlo A. Thomas Sr. Obituary

Arlo A. Thomas, Sr., 87, of Halfmoon, New York, passed away peacefully at his home

on Thursday, May 14 2026, following a battle with cancer.

Born in 1938 in Otis, Massachusetts, Arlo was a son of the late George and Frieda

(Hood) Thomas. He was also predeceased by his daughter, Kelly Thomas; and his

sister, Sandra Ingham.

In 1957, Arlo enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served with honor

until his discharge in 1960. On August 30, 1963, Arlo married Phyllis Concile and

together they began their family. To support that family, Arlo worked as a heavy

equipment operator for William Schultz, in Ballston Spa, NY.

Beyond work, Arlo was devoted to his family. He was a loving husband to Phyllis, a

supportive father, and, his greatest joy, a grandfather. From playing Santa Claus every

Christmas for his granddaughters, to playing cribbage with his siblings, Arlo

always made sure his family came first. His greatest gift was putting a smile on anyone's

face with a funny joke, of which he had an endless supply, or a reactive look.

Arlo is survived by his wife of 63 years: Phyllis Thomas; their son: Arlo A. (Denise)

Thomas, Jr; two grandchildren: Breeanne (William) Joslin, and Kelsey Thomas; and his

siblings: Arlene (H.) Adams, Loretta (Warren) Lindley, Russell (Late Carol) Thomas,

Valerie (Augusto) Maldonado; and his brother-in-law Skip Ingham.

A period of visitation will be held for Arlo from 11:00am until 1:00pm on Wednesday,

May 20, 2026 at Catricala Funeral Home, 1597 Route 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065,

followed by a graveside committal with Marine Corps Veteran's Honors at St. Mary's

Cemetery, 65 Middletown Road, Waterford NY at 1:30 pm.
