Raymond Anthony Echevarria Obituary

Raymond Anthony Echevarria, 47, of Albany, New York, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, May 17, 2026.


Born in Brooklyn New York in 1979, Raymond was a son of the late Raymond L. Echevarria and Luisa M. (Cedeño) Echevarria.


After earning his diploma Raymond joined the work force, eventually working his way up to Assistant Store Manager for Fairway Supermarket in Douglaston, NY. He met Cristal A. Ferreira, and together the two of them had two children and built a life, moving north to the capital region and settling in Albany.


When Raymond wasn't at work, he enjoyed sports, especially rooting for his beloved New York teams, the Mets, the Knicks, and the Giants. He loved music, and later in his life discovered a passion for cooking. Ray cherished family, and had a special love for family vacations, especially when it concerned his kids. His children were his entire world.


Raymond is survived by his partner: Cristal A. Ferreira, their two children: Ariel R. Echevarria and Jasmine R. Echevarria, siblings: Barbie (Vinny) LaBarbera, Tina (Andrew) Colon, and Christian Echevarria; and his nieces and nephews: Vincent, Kory, Sarina, Amelia, Dennis, Delilah, and Dennis V.


A period of visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Catricala Funeral Home, 1597 Route 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065, with a memorial service taking place at 6:30 pm.
