Eric R. Tanski Obituary

Halfmoon, NY — Eric Robert Tanski, 77, was a beloved husband, devoted father, proud

grandfather, supportive father-in-law, cherished brother, respected builder, businessman, and loyal friend. Eric passed away at home on May 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family after a long and courageous battle marked by extraordinary strength, determination, and resilience, the very spirit of Tanski Tough. Though his family and friends are heartbroken to say goodbye, they find comfort in knowing he was never alone and deeply loved through every moment until the very end.

Born in Saratoga, NY, he was the son of the late Wesley Tanski and Patricia Ciulla.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Eva M. Tanski; his children, Eric (Alexandria) Tanski and Elena (Dominick) Caldarazzo; and his three grandchildren, Ava Rose, Samuel Robert, and Vanessa Rose.

He leaves behind his siblings, Bruce (Carole) Tanski, Denice (late Jim) Kubiak, and Marlana

(Pete) Tanski. He was predeceased by his sister, Marsha Ceremuga, and is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and extended family.

At the center of Eric's life was his family. His wife, children, and grandchildren were his greatest joy, and his devotion to them was evident in everything he did. He worked tirelessly out of love, gave without hesitation, and took deep pride in the life they built together.

Whether helping with a project, fixing something around the house, offering advice, or simply showing up when needed, Eric was someone his family could always depend on.

His marriage to Eva was a partnership grounded in love, loyalty, laughter, and support. His

children, Eric and Elena were among his proudest blessings, and becoming a grandfather

brought him a joy unlike any other. Better known to them as Poppi, he cherished every moment with his grandchildren, and his legacy will live on in each of them: Ava Rose's heart, Samuel Robert's passion, and Vanessa Rose's resilience and determination.

Eric also found meaning in the simple routines that brought connection to his days. One of his favorite things to do was to start his mornings at Snyder's, sharing breakfast and coffee with friends who meant so much to him. In those everyday moments, filled with stories, laughter, and familiar faces, he found comfort and community. His generosity, presence, and willingness to help others became lasting gifts to all who knew him.

He enjoyed casino trips, slot machines, scratch-offs, pool days with his family, dinners with

loved ones, and the simple joy of making memories together. Eric had a lifelong love of cars and could spend hours talking about them, working on them, or dreaming up his next project. He was known for his unbelievable gun collection and having every tool imaginable. Whether in the garage or lending a hand, he had a gift for turning ordinary days into moments his family and friends will always remember.

Even in illness, his spirit never wavered. The phrase "Tanski Tough" became more than a motto, it became a reflection of who he truly was. His strength, determination, and refusal to give up, even on the hardest days, were a testament to his character and, above all, to his love for the people who meant the most to him. He was our "SUPERMAN"!

Eric's memory will live on in every story shared, every laugh remembered, and every quiet

moment when he is missed most. He left an imprint on all who knew him, and the love he gave will never fade. Eric's larger than life presence will remain forever.

Eric will be missed more than words can express and remembered with love, always.

A celebration of Eric's life will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m. at The

Fairways of Halfmoon, 17 Johnson Rd, Mechanicville, NY 12118. All friends, family, and children are welcome.
