When news of the dearly departed reaches us one can not help but feel sadness. This sadness only deepened when that person is a neighbor, close acquaintance, or family member…
My family and I have been blessed with the good fortune of living in a neighborhood that is more akin to that of a large family rather than simply a collection of faces and homes. As such when word of the loss of a loved one related to someone we ourselves hold near and dear our response is not just that of sympathy and compassion but also of heartbreak. This brings me to the sad news of the passing of Maureen Adams mother Mary Howley. From all of us here at the Daszewski household our most heartfelt and sincerest condolences for your loss Maureen…
I did not have the pleasure of having met Mary but as has been made evident by her daughter Maureens depth of character and kind nature as representative Mary must truly have been the brightest of lights and a beacon in this world. Warm spirited, steadfast/ loyal, charismatic, simply a breath of fresh air, these qualities and so many more exemplify our dear friend and neighbor Maureen. I imagine these very same gifts were bestowed by Mary upon her daughter and through Maureen her children and grandchildren these many gifts live on. May Marys memory also live on in the hearts and minds of all whom she touched with her indelible spirit and warmth, may that very same spirit guide and warm all those whose hearts carry her love. May sadness, sorrow and tears be met with the joy and smiles which can only be amassed over a lifetime lived and filled with fond remembrances…

My heart goes out to the entire Howley family. She was a second mom to me in the 38 years of styling her hair for all the families events birthdays, weddings and Friday night spaghetti dinners at country knolls and going to Siros . She loved going there..I loved our chats, laughing, and gossiping. I will miss you, love Kim

Both of our daughters (Sue and Annie) went to day camp which Tom and Mary ran in Clifton Knolls for years. Her glorious smile and welcoming attitude were infectious. Our daughters loved Miss Maureen who was a daily joy in their lives. We remember driving by Mary and Tom's home and telling our kids, "That's where Mrs. Howley lives" and we all smiled because she was a special person in all of our lives. Ed and Judy Hughes

To the Holley Family
So sorry for your mom and grandmas loss. Way back in the late 50’s I played basketball for your dad at St. Columba.
Mary was at every game. Their love for basketball is what created my vision of what I wanted to be…just like your dad
and grandpa. Their love of each other was modeled by my wife and my 63 years of marriage, 5 children and 4 great grandchildren.
Our paths crossed many other times at
Niskayuna High from 1968-75.
You all have reason to be proud of both mom and dad. They touched my life and so many other that their impact is immense. They are now together in heaven as God’s newest angel. At this sad moment you all have reasons to reflect on all the happy memories you had with mom and dad.

This picture of Mom is exactly how I remember Mary.
Many, many wonderful memories with Tom and Mary through the ND Club………even did a trip to Ireland for an ND Football game in 1996, with Tom and Mary. GO IRISH
Over the years, our lives have taken different paths but I have often thought of beautiful Mary Howley. A true lady in every sense of the word. She is now reunited with Tom, the love of her life and may they rest in Heavenly Peace~
