Carmela "Carm" Cummings of Clifton Park passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026 at the age of 80 after suffering from a brief malady. Carm was a devoted wife, loving mother, affectionate sister, attentive sister-in-law, tender aunt, and doting grandmother.

Carm was born in Glens Falls, NY on November 21, 1945. She attended St. Alphonsus Catholic School and graduated from Queensbury High School in 1964. Carm worked for the General Electric Company in Hudson Falls, NY for several years prior to dedicating herself to raising a family. Later in life, after raising her two children, she worked as a bookkeeper at Hannaford in Clifton Park.

Carm was predeceased by her husband, Gene, to whom she had been married for 50 years. She is survived by her two children, Michael (of Tiburon, CA) and Erin (of Heathrow, FL), her sister, Emma (of Orlando, FL), and three grandchildren, Griffin, Edward and Christina. Her in-laws, Thomas and Theresa, also live in Clifton Park.

Carm loved to sew and design complex quilts, cook a wide array of delicious meals, jubilantly celebrate holidays with her family, and dabble in arts and crafts. Carm was a long-time and devout parishioner of St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends for her steadfast loyalty, perpetual attentiveness, and fervent faith.

Funeral services will be privately held at the Catricala Funeral Home, 1597 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Queensbury, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that consideration be given to a donation in Carm's name to Ellis Hospital, 1101 Nott St., Schenectady, NY 12308; the heroic efforts and care of the doctors, nurses and other staff of the hospital were noteworthy in extending Carm's life.
