Edna W. Borst, 87, of Clifton Park, New York, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

Born in Stamford, New York, in 1938, Edna was the daughter of the late Perry and Beatrice Winnie. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 48 years, Richard Borst.

Edna was a fun-loving people person whose warmth, outgoing nature, and generous spirit brought many friends into her life. She loved being surrounded by family and friends, sharing laughter, conversation, and the moments that made life meaningful.

A devoted supporter of the arts, Edna had a special passion for music. A lifelong trombone player, she continued to share her musical talents well into her seventies, proudly marching in two bands. She was also a longtime volunteer at Proctors Theatre, where her dedication was recognized with the Volunteer of the Year Award.

Edna loved following men's college basketball, was an avid Duke University fan and supporter of Shenendehowa sports, but her greatest joy was always her family. She will be remembered for her love of music, her friendly and spirited personality, and the many lives she touched.

Edna is survived by her two children, Deborah (Floyd) Duffy and Mark (Amy) Borst; her granddaughter, Lindsey Duffy; her sister, Shirley Losaw; her nephew, Gary (Wendy) Losaw; her niece, Karen Hobson; and great nephews Alex (Brittany) and Garrett Losaw.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Catricala Funeral Home. A service will take place at 5:30 p.m., near the conclusion of visitation. Edna will be laid to rest beside her husband, Richard, in a private ceremony at Jonesville Cemetery.
