Mary L. Demos, age 50 of Halfmoon passed away suddenly on November 24, 2015 at her home. Born on January 11, 1965 in Oneonta, NY, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Betty Nissen.

Mary received her Bachelor’s in nursing from Russell Sage College in 1988. She worked as a registered nurse for the Visiting Nurse Association of Albany for 25 years.

Known for her love of her family and her compassion, Mary and her family rescued and fostered many animals through the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society. She enjoyed making crafts; especially jewelry, and loved tending to her garden.

She is survived by her husband Nicholas Demos, children; Stephen, Seth, and Kathryn Demos, sisters Karen (Herman) Riese, and Roberta (Dennis Becker) Nissen, sister-in-law Karen (Mark) Lord, and brother-in-law Christopher (Heather) Demos. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews; Herman (Sherry) Riese, Cali (Robert Montecalvo) Riese, Andrew Becker, and Christopher and Michael Demos.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
