Obituary of Andrew McCarty

Andrew J. McCarty, 58, of Clifton Park, New York, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY following a long illness. Andrew was born in 1967 in Norwalk, Connecticut, a son of the late Edgar J. and Laura S. (Van Remmen) McCarty. Following High School, Andrew earned his Associate's Degree and made his own way as an Entrepreneur, working for himself in landscaping and property management, information technology and nutrient rich soil. Before anything else, Andrew was a Dad. He was very active in all of his daughter's activities and cherished their time together. Andrew coached soccer and enjoyed assisting with volleyball practice. When Andrew was not working, he loved to golf and enjoyed year-round hiking and camping in the Adirondacks where he and a close friend adopted a lean-to. He was happiest being outdoors whether it was in the mountains, spending time at Lake George with his family and dogs, or working out in the yard. Andrew is survived by his wife: Kathleen McCarty; his daughter: Cassara McCarty; his brother: Ron McCarty; his sister: Jill Bradshaw; and 3 nieces and 5 nephews. Services for Andrew will be held at Grace Fellowship, 1 Enterprise Avenue, Halfmoon, NY 12065 on February 28, 2025 at 11:00am with a reception to follow.
