Victor J. Minardi, of Rehoboth, Massachusetts, passed away on March 2, 2025 in Troy,

New York.

Victor was the husband of 62 years of the late Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Minardi.

Victor was born and raised in Barrington, RI. In May 1945, he left Barrington High

School to serve in the U.S. Navy, starting on assignment in the Pacific that summer.

After the war, he completed a degree in Engineering at the University of Rhode Island.

For most of his career, Victor worked as an independent Civil Engineer. He designed

roads and bridges, performed site planning, and was a registered Land Surveyor. He

was especially proud of his work in the State Parks of Rhode Island. He was the

president of the Rhode Island Society of Professional Engineers in 1973, and was a

member of the Rhode Island Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

He and Betty married in 1956, after which they lived for 10 years in Riverside, RI. The

family then moved to nearby Rehoboth, MA, where Victor lived until 2023. Working and

shaping the woodland surrounding their Rehoboth home gave him great peace and

satisfaction over the course of 52 years.

Victor was an avid reader of American history, and had a scholarly knowledge of the

U.S. Civil War.

He had a special kindness for children, and was a favorite of his many nieces, nephews,

and grandchildren. He was always very proud and supportive of his sons.

Victor is survived by his sister, Flora (Lynch) Minardi; sons John V. Minardi and his wife

Linda of Seattle, WA, and Christopher P. Minardi and his wife Susan of Clifton Park, NY;

two grandsons, Stephen (wife Jaime) Minardi and Matthew (wife Justine) Minardi; and

great grandson Jack Minardi. In addition to his parents and spouse, Victor is preceded

in death by his brothers George Minardi, Henry Minardi, Alfred Minardi, and Oresto

Minardi, and his sister Alice (Minardi) Ianiere.

A Funeral Mass will be held for Victor on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 10:30 am at Corpus Christi Church, 2001 Route 9, Round Lake, NY 12151.

Burial will take place on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 11:00am at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, E. Providence, Rhode Island
