Please share a memory of Luisa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Luisa M. Echevarria, 75, of Halfmoon, NY, passed away peacefully following an illness on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at her home while surrounded by her family. Luisa was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico in 1949, a daughter of the late José and Luisa (Garcia) Cedeño. She was also predeceased by her two siblings. Following high school, she went to work as a deli clerk for Pathmark Supermarkets (Later A&P) in Queens, New York. When Luisa was not at work or caring for her family, she enjoyed spending her time travelling, bowling, playing card games, playing Bingo, and reading. She loved cooking for and feeding people, and loved children. She always surrounded herself with friends and loved ones, and always made sure everyone was fed. While at Bishop Hubbard, she loved participating in social activities with her friends, and was always at game nights. Luisa is survived by her three children: Tina (Andrew) Colon, Barbara (Vinny) LaBarbera, and Raymond (Cristal) Echevarria; her grandchildren: Dennis, Vincent, Kory, Sarina, Ariel, and Jasmine; and her three great-grandchildren: Dennis, Amelia, and Delilah. A period of visitation for Luisa will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, April 7, 2025 at Catricala Funeral Home, 1597 Route 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm. In keeping with Luisa's compassion for others, in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital online at www.stjude.org.
