Obituary of Michael Edward Collins

Michael Edward Collins, 27, of Clifton Park, New York, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 6th, 2025. Mike was born in 1998 in Mesa, Arizona, a son of John M. and Deb (Frail) Collins. After graduating from Shenendehowa High School, he attended SUNY Oneonta, where he earned his bachelor's degree in criminal justice, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Following his graduation from college, Mike went to work in Latham, NY for NY Life, where he was made a partner. When Michael was not at work, he was working on himself, spending a lot of his free time at the gym. He enjoyed cold plunges and various athletics, participating at different times in basketball, baseball, cross-country, and track and field. His personal improvement wasn't just limited to his physical body; he also enjoyed broadening his horizons with books and music, being an avid reader, and enjoying concerts, especially country music. He also enjoyed relaxing with a nice day of fishing and had a soft spot for dogs. He was very close with his brother, Ryan, and they enjoyed many of these pastimes together. Mike is survived by his parents: John and Deb Collins; his brother: Ryan Collins, his devoted grandparents: Edward and Carol Frail; an aunt: Diane Padalino; an uncle: Scott (Melissa) Lieberman; and his cousins: Nicholas and Alex Padalino, Christopher Cushing, and Ashley Lieberman. Michael was predeceased by his aunt: Cathy Lieberman. A period of visitation was held from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at Catricala Funeral Home, 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, NY 12065. Michael was privately laid to rest at St. Anthony's Cemetery, 27 Glenridge Rd, Glenville, NY 12302 on Monday, April 14, 2025. In keeping with Michael's love of dogs, please consider making a donation in his memory to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter, 6010 County Farm Rd, Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
