Obituary of Gary A. Montgomery

Gary A. Montgomery, age 68 of Halfmoon passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 19, 2021. Born on February 28, 1953, he was the son of the late Arthur and Virginia Montgomery. Growing up, Gary was a proud Eagle Scout. He worked in quality assurance for National Grid before spending most of his career as a mail carrier, most recently working out of the Burnt Hills post office. He also simultaneously ran Montgomery Tax Service along with his father for over 40 years. Gary was an automotive enthusiast, especially MINI Coopers; and was a member of the MINIs in the Catskills Club. He is survived by his wife Monika Montgomery, daughter Jennifer (William) Salvi, son Brian (Tammy) Montgomery, father-in-law Herman List, and his beloved grandchildren Sean and Riley Salvi, and Caleb and Cole Montgomery. Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 28th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with a memorial service at 12 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park.
