Ronald E. Dreher, age 78, of Halfmoon passed away peacefully at his home on November 23, 2023 with his loving family at his side. Ronald was born in Ballston Spa to the late Donald and Evelyn Dreher. Ronald served in the United States Army, receiving the Viet Nam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Viet Nam Campaign Medal. Ron worked for the US Postal Service in Albany, retiring in 2005 after 35 years of service. Ron loved family gatherings, Golf, Bowling, Going to Casinos, and was a big Patriots and Mets fan. He graduated from Ballston Spa High School and played basketball; his team was the 1962 Sectional Champions. He is survived by his wife Julia A. (McHargue) Dreher, a brother Frederick (April) Dreher and a sister Karen (Kasey) Cram. Step daughter, Dawn (Ed) Keyrouze, Grandchildren, Krissy (Ricardo) Rodriguez, Tanya Hernandez, Austin Phelps, Amanda Phelps and Justin Keyrouze. Great Granddaughters, Aimara Rodriguez, Triana Hernandez and Sofia Phelps and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be this Monday November 27, from 4-7pm, at the Catricala Funeral Home, Inc. 1597 Route 9 Clifton Park NY 12065. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10am in the Shenendehowa Methodist Church, in Clifton Park. Burial will take place Tuesday 12 noon at the Gerald B.H. Solomon, Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871. In Lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 179 Lawrence St. Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
