Peggy Jo Power Gifford, age 67 of Clifton Park passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Saratoga Hospital. Born on May 8, 1948, she was the daughter of Jeanne K. Power, and the late Paul P. Power Sr.
Peggy was the co-founder of Giffy’s Bar-B-Q and Power’s Inn & Pub. Peggy served two terms as the state treasurer of the New York State Society Daughters of the American Revolution, and is a member of the Saratoga Chapter. She was involved with the Colonial Dames and the Daughters of the War of 1812, and the International Inner Wheel. She enjoyed genealogy and history. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband Randy Gifford, children Charlie (LTC James) Cahill, Amy (Brenden) Gotham, Bryah (Catherine) Gifford, siblings Nanci (Betty Hall) Newell, Paul P. “Pat” (Liz) Power Jr., and was the beloved Gaga to Taylor and Tessa Gifford, Taylor and McKenna Cahill, and Liam Gotham. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and her dog Gretta.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, with a funeral service Wednesday at 10 am at the Jonesville United Methodist Church. There will be a graveside service at 2 pm at the Stamford Cemetery in Stamford, NY. The Saratoga DAR will have a service at 7 pm on Tuesday.
