Obituary of Ceil E. Ryan

Ceil E. (Landry) Ryan, age 70 of Halfmoon passed away at her home on Saturday September 19, 2015. Born on June 24, 1945 in Canada, she was the daughter of Jean Paul Landry and the late Gertrude Landry. She was predeceased by her sons Billy and Robert Ryan, and her brother Paul Landry. Ceil worked as a bus monitor for Shenendehowa Schools for the past 20 years. She was an avid gardener and was especially proud of her flowers. She loved capturing moments with her photography and enjoyed crocheting. Ceil also loved going on casino bus trips to Atlantic City and go shopping. She is survived by her husband Maurice Ryan, daughter Anne (Timothy) Bishop, son John (Denise) Ryan, and her siblings Jean (Don) Martin, Gerald (Denise) Landry, Mary Pierce (Marc Brown), Micheline (Dan) Hunter, Rob (Rochelle) Landry, Rose (Mike) Fontaine, Dennis (Nancy) Landry, Pauline (Bob) Father, Lucie Crola, Christine (Dave) West, and Diane (Mike) Hurtt. She is also survived by grandchildren Brittany, Benjamin, and Mark, and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, with a funeral Mass on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Waterford. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Waterford. Ceil requested that no flowers be sent. Instead, she wished donations be made in her memory to the Ronald McDonald House, 139 S Lake Ave, Albany, NY 12208. If you feel inclined to send flowers please do not send lilies due to allergies.
