Please share a memory of Gregory to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Gregory A. DiNuzzo, age 23 of Pinellas Park, FL; formerly of Clifton Park passed away on October 13, 2015. He was born on December 22, 1991 in Niskayuna. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather Eugene DiNuzzo Sr., maternal grandfather Robert Farinelli, and uncle Timothy Farinelli. Gregory was a 2010 graduate of Shenendehowa High School and received his associate’s degree in business administration from Hudson Valley Community College. He most recently worked with his father at Chevron in St. Petersburg, FL. Greg was diagnosed with mild autism at age 2. With the help of the committed teachers at Clover Patch and Bridges, and the love and support of his parents, he went on to succeed in the Shenendehowa school system where he had many friends, made the honor roll, and earned the admiration of his teachers. He was an extraordinarily sensitive person and from a very young age showed great empathy for other people. He was kind and nurturing, insightful and witty. As a young adult he set out to understand autism and wanted to help people struggling with the developmental disorder. Even most recently when he wasn’t feeling well, he never lost his compassion for other people and their struggles. Greg enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, listening to techno music, and driving his Lexus. He loved sports cars, Guptil’s ice cream, the NY Giants and Knicks, going to the gym, and playing with his puppy “Cabin” with whom he had tremendous patience. He excelled at chess and as a teenager gave his uncles a run for their money. He was also interested in business and the stock market, which no doubt evolved from his role as banker in family monopoly games beginning at age 4. He is survived by his mother Kathy Farinelli (Vincent) Vagnini, father Eugene DiNuzzo, sister Illissa DiNuzzo, brother Brandon DiNuzzo, paternal grandmother Martha DiNuzzo, and maternal grandmother Mary Farinelli. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Edward the Confessor Church, with a funeral Mass following at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Ravena. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the National Alliance for Mental Illness (N.A.M.I.)
