Obituary of Richard J. "Dick" Buck Jr.

Richard J. “Dick” Buck Jr., age 85 of Clifton Park passed away on Wednesday February 3, 2016.
He was born in Albany and raised in Catskill.
Dick served in the US Coast Guard as a pilot and continued in the Coast Guard Reserves for many years, reaching the rank of Lt. Commander. He relocated his family to the Capital Region in 1959 and began a lifelong commitment to teaching mathematics. After retiring from teaching fulltime in the Niskayuna School District, he enjoyed tutoring math for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lynn (VanOlst) Buck, son Dwight Buck, daughter Sue (Fred) Gliesing, granddaughters Julie and Kelsey Gliesing, and sister Claudia Zapisek.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
