Katherine C. “Kay” Dahoda, age 77 of Halfmoon passed away on Wednesday March 9, 2016 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital, after an extended illness, with her family by her side. Born in New York City in 1938, raised and educated in Cohoes. She was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Nettie Ciekawy.

Katherine worked for Michael’s Banquet House and Fairchild Co. in Latham, and later worked for Troy Savings Bank and Trustco Bank, both in Halfmoon. She was a member of the St. Michael’s Alter Rosary Society. She volunteered as a religion teacher for St Mary's of Crescent. Her hobbies included photography, crocheting, dancing, swimming and listening to Polish music.

She is survived by her husband, Louis Dahoda of 57 years, sons, Louis A. and Paul J. Dahoda, daughters, Deborah A. (Frederick) Lohaus and Kathy M. (Terrance) Nash, grandchildren, Brant and Kendra Dahoda, Frederick, Jake and Aaron Lohaus and Sarah and Stephanie Nash. She is also survived by her sister, Anna (Daniel) Howansky, and brother Nicholas (Betty) Chicaway, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is scheduled at a time in the future.
