Rita M. Costanza, age 57 passed away on Friday June 24, 2016 at St. Peter’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 11, 1959 in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of Josephine Candelieri and the late Ralph Candelieri. She was predeceased by her father-in-law Frank Costanza, and mother-in-law Margaret Costanza, and her niece Amanda Schwab. Rita worked as a home care aide in Saugerties, and most recently was a daycare provider in Clifton Park, retiring in 2009. She loved to enjoy life and have fun, especially vacationing at the Jersey Shore, going shopping, singing karaoke, and playing Friday night Wii Bowling with her family. One of her favorite activities was to travel to casinos and play roulette for hours. Rita enjoyed being pampered, and loved receiving a “mani-pedi”. She is survived by her husband Christopher Costanza, son Christopher (Whitney) Costanza Jr., daughters Brianna (Daniel) Phillips, and Alexandria Costanza, mother Josephine Candelieri, brothers Ralph, Robert, and sisters Cathy Candelieri, and Marina Dicenzo. She was a loving “Gaga” to her grandson Maverick. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, with a funeral Mass on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Edward’s Church in Clifton Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Autoimmune Related Disease Association by going to http://www.aarda.org/donate/.
