I am so sorry to hear of Don's passing. It has always been a pleasure to work with him in timing speed skating events. It is clear that he was as generous in sharing his time and talents with others as he was with speed skating. Thanks Petra for sharing your Dad at speed skating meets. My heart goes out to Cindy, Petra, and all of Don's family and friends. Don was a close friend of mine when we attended Calvary Memorial Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I had the privilege of singing with Don, not only in the choir, but in a small group named "Inheritance." Inheritance toured through the south and sang at many venues. The group, under the leadership of Gary Matthews, had a fantastic time, serving Jesus, which Don loved to do! One of my fondest memories was when Don played Jesus in Dallas Holm's infamous musical "His Last Days". I believe his commitment to this role had a huge influence in Don's commitment to the Lord. All of us at Calvary at that moment in time will always remember the fun and amazing times together. Well done, Don! You will never be forgotten!

Cindy and Petra,
It is with great sadness that I heard of Don's passing. I think very highly of Don and appreciated his friendship and mentorship at ground zero and beyond. His love for the Lord and both of you showed in his life. He was a person that assisted in my acceptance of Jesus as Lord and I am now a Youth Pastor. His character and integrity were amazing and his legacy lives on in all of that have known him. I rejoice to know that someday we will all be with him again. Dear Cindy and Petra. From orientation school in New York - to Kenya - then Uganda our paths crossed. What wonderful memories I have of those times. Although deeply saddened by the earthly loss of Don the rejoicing in HEAVEN has been wonderful . And the knowledge of the fact that one day there will be another reunion in HEAVEN with Don should bring comfort to your souls. Oh Cindy, I am so sorry for your loss. I didn't know you & Don well but I watched while I lived in NY. You & he were such an example of God's love to others. Don was one of the first men I have met who I can now see began to change my understanding of what a Godly man looks like. I have been extremely blessed by his example as one of many in my life. I'm so sorry to hear of Don's passing. It's been a long time since I've seen or spoken to Don and Cindy but in my younger days at Calvary Memorial they were a part of my life. I always admired their love for each other and most importantly their love and service to the Lord Jesus.
