William E. “Bill” Tarvin, age 64 of Clifton Park passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at his home. Born on January 14, 1952, he was the son of Zelia E. Tarvin and the late Roy T. Tarvin. Bill retired from CSX after 37 years of service. Following retirement, he owned and operated Tarvin Consulting Services LLC out of his home, and worked at Saratoga Engineering and RWT; where he taught training for railroad safety. He was an avid Jeep enthusiast and was a longtime member of the Mohawk Offroad Jeep Club, and also enjoyed woodworking and house boating along with his wife. He loved wildlife, and had pet birds with his wife. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Karen Tarvin, his mother, Zelia Tarvin, sisters Roseanne Tarvin Decker, and Mary (William) Kinsella, and his nieces and nephews, Katherine, Nicholas, and Michael (Linda). Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. with a service at 7 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, in Clifton Park. Burial will be in Mount Gilead Cemetery in Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the ALS Association, PO Box 6051 Albert Lea, MN 56007, or by going to www.alsa.org.
