Obituary of Ronald K. Flanigan

Ronald K. Flanigan, age 79 passed away at home on Saturday April 19, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was born on January 1, 1935, the son of the late Frank and Lena Flanigan. He was predeceased by his wife Karen E. Flanigan, son Jamie B. Flanigan, and brother Frank E. Flanigan. Ronald served with the US Army in the Philippines. He was a machinist for General Electric in Schenectady and retired in 1992. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast,and went on many trips with his family and friends. He loved to bowl and golf, and participated in area leagues. He is survived by his children Kelly L. (Robert Wilkerson) Flanigan, Ronald K. (Teresa)Flanigan Jr., Karen J. Flanigan, and James C. Flanigan, and brother Richard B. (JoAnn)Flanigan. He is also survived by grandchildren Brandi L. Drobneck, Gabrielle L. Jones, Jacob R. Wilkerson, and Brittney L. Flanigan. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, with a service at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Northeastern New York Chapter, 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405, Albany, New York 12205.
